Marco Wendlberger from Blue Planet Diving involved in interesting project in Indonesia
In 2005 and 2007 Marco Wendlberger has been involved in a project concerning drinking- water in Java, Indonesia. The project was lead by the Karlsruhe University. In a deep cave system parts of the system were blocked by rock and stones that moved during earth quackes. For solving this problem dynamite has to be used. Marco and another diver had to place 3 charges of 25 kilo in the right place. (No need to tell here that Marco has professional experience on working with explosives). The cave system is situated at a depth of about 100 meter deep and is about 600 meters long. The divers had to climb down in a shaft to start their dive and do the job. Some pictures below will give an impression of the job that has been completed succesfully in spite of the poor working circumstances. More information on this project can be found on the website of Blue Planet Diving.
